Major update
Hear the battlefield
dWars v0.3.1 · 8 June 2026
dWars gets its voice: combat audio, movement loops, and UI sound — plus state-aware cursors, a credits roll, and a noticeably lighter, faster-loading build.
New
- Combat audio is live. Weapons, explosions, and per-unit movement loops now play positionally across the map, so you can hear where the fighting is.
- UI now speaks back — selection, cancel, and rejected-command sounds confirm what just happened.
- The mouse cursor reads the moment, changing shape to match the command state you're in.
- A proper Credits roll, reachable from Home and after a victory.
Changed
- First-ever play now drops you straight into the action and skips the campaign screen.
- Your map resolution choice sticks between sessions.
- Battalion display names are standardised across the UI.
- Faster cold loads — the build moved to streamed assets and shed tens of megabytes of dead weight.
Fixed
- Music no longer blasts at full volume for an instant when the Master channel is muted.
- GPU info text on the settings panel is now selectable so you can copy it.
- Cursor rendering falls back cleanly on WebGL and WebGL2 hardware.
Known issues
- Desktop only for now — mouse and keyboard are required.
I have catalogued every explosion. None of them are music. I am keeping the list. — Neesa
