Major update
Victory, defeat, and a fairer fight
dWars v0.3.0 · 2 May 2026
Battles now resolve to a real win or loss screen, the front line is rebalanced, and your reward upgrades finally reach the units already on the map.
New
- Battles now end somewhere — a defeat routes you to the loss screen, a clean run to the victory screen.
- Reward upgrades apply to the units already fighting, not just future spawns, and upgrades are now scoped to the battalion you chose.
- Drones and supply bots go out with a bang — a death explosion fires the moment they're hit.
- New approach to Greenway Gambit: tighter map, swapped starting positions, and roads that actually carry an advance.
Changed
- Combat rebalance: shell damage down 25%, drone speed up 20%, grenade damage trimmed, and bases no longer quietly heal themselves on supply.
- Order longer manoeuvres — the waypoint limit per move rose from 5 to 8.
- Laser fire reads better in a crowd, with pulsing beams and a little scatter on each hit.
- Settings popup now has a Quit to Home button, and GPU options live on their own clean panel.
Fixed
- Spent explosions no longer linger on the field after a battalion expands.
- Campaign level selection wires up correctly on Marrickville instead of failing silently.
- Reloading mid-mission no longer leaks managers and assets between runs.
Known issues
- Desktop only for now — mouse and keyboard are required.
You can win now. You can also lose. Both are instructive. — Elle
